Death Penalty Action has been alleging the political nature of the resumption of federal executions since federal execution dates were first announced in July, 2019. The evidence is pretty clear, but don’t take our word for it. If you want to have a thorough status update on what’s happening with the (currently FOUR) scheduled federal executions (8/26, 8/28, 9/22 and 9/24 with more anticipated, watch Rob Dunham from the Death Penalty Information Center spell it out in a matter-of-fact, non-political way in this recording of Wednesday’s edition of Voices of Experience on the Death Penalty program. Death Penalty Action has launched a national sign-on letter for organizations, and individuals may sign our petition calling on Congress to investigate irregularities in how the July executions were carried out, and to stop future presidents from using executions for political purposes by ending the federal death penalty entirely.
